UPDATE: Missing Salem woman found unharmed

Lorraine Mueller, 88, of Salem, who was reported missing Thursday has been found, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department reports.

Mueller was spotted near a water treatment facility by facility workers a farmer searching with an ATV, who in turn notified nearby Sheriff’s deputies conducting searches in the immediate area, said Sgt. Dan Ruth KCSD public information officer. Deputies confirmed the identity of Mueller once on scene a short time later.

Though she appears to be uninjured, she is currently being transported to an area hospital for a medical assessment, Ruth said.

Searches extended through the night with deputies checking nearby trails, Ruth said. Friday, the area neighbors organized and they along with deputies searched for using a K9 team, ATVs. Use of the Air One Helicopter and a boat out on Hooker Lake were considered as well. Area trails were mapped and a methodical search was underway with detectives and the Department of Aging also assisting.

A media release from KCSD concluded:

Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth expresses his gratitude to the farmer that discovered Ms. Mueller along with the Sheriff’s Deputies, Ms. Mueller’s neighbors, other area farmers, Town of Salem employees and the Department of Aging workers for their efforts in helping to locate Ms. Mueller.”

UPDATE 1:03 p.m. — Media release from KCSD says: Mueller “was conscious, alert and dehydrated but otherwise uninjured.”
