Flood warning issued for Fox River; wind advisory issued for Saturday, maybe snow too

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webThe National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Fox River in Western Kenosha County.

As of 8 p.m. Friday, the river was measured at 10.6 feet at the New Munster gauge. Flood stage is 11 feet, which the river is forecast to reach Saturday night.

The NWS also has issued a wind advisory in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph are expected.

If that isn’t enough, snow may return Saturday. The NWS says there’s a 60 percent chance of snow here, mainly between 1 to 4 p.m. About a half inch of accumulation is forecast.
