Salem Town Board recognizes Wilmot High School Marketing & Business Association

The Salem Town Board on Monday presented a proclamation honoring achievement by Wilmot High School Marketing & Business Association students in the State Career & Development Conference at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva on March 10.

The Wilmot MBA website says: Wilmot MBA is an organization at Wilmot Union High School that consists of two clubs, DECA and FBLA. Future Business Leaders of America is a more general business organization while DECA focuses on hospitality, finance, marketing and management. As an active member of Wilmot MBA, members  participate in community service projects, district, state and national competitions and also attend many different conferences held throughout the school year.

The proclamation reads as follows:

WHEREAS, profound economic and technological changes in our society are rapidly reflected in the nature of work, thereby placing new and additional responsibilities on our educational system; and

WHEREAS, DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA prepares students for workplace readiness and is the foundation of a strong, well-educated work force which fosters productivity in business and industry; and

WHEREAS, DECA integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition. A spark of competition drives DECA members to excel and improve their performance; and

WHEREAS, On March 10TH thru the 12th, 2016, WI DECA held its 50th State Career & Development Conference at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI; and

WHEREAS, The following Marketing & Business Association students did exceptional at the conference: Brendan Buhler – 1st place Professional Selling; Baylee Chappell – 1st place Principle of Marketing; Ethan Dahlen – 3rd place Principles of Business Administration; Jenna Stohr – Finalist in Principle of Business Administration; Jake Wix – Finalist Quick Serve Restaurant Management; Mike Trocke – Medalist Marketing Cluster Exam; Claire Griffin – Medalist Principles of Business Management Role Play; and Summer Nicpon​ – Medalist Marketing Management Role Play.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Salem Town Board, consisting of Salem Town Chairman Diann Tesar, and Salem Town Supervisors Dennis Faber, Dan Campion, Ted Kmiec and Mike Culat, do hereby recognize and congratulate the Wilmot Union High School Marketing & Business Association students and their coach, for their team’s achievements at the 50th State Career & Development Conference competition and wish them continued success.
