Orientation for anyone interested in 2016 Master Gardener Volunteer Program will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Kenosha County Center, 19600 75th St., Bristol.

This session is an opportunity to learn more about the Master Gardener Volunteer program, the training course and volunteer projects. Attendance is required to apply for the Master Gardener Volunteer Program.

Master Gardener Volunteer training is only offered through UW-Extension, and is a program dedicated to educating adults interested in helping their community through informative programs and projects. In Kenosha and Racine counties, Master Gardener Volunteers answer gardening questions, present educational programs, design and maintain demonstration and therapeutic gardens, and help youth and adults learn about and appreciate the natural world.

2016 Master Gardener Level 1 Training will be held Wednesdays, 1 to 4 p.m., from March 16 to June 1. Class location will be at the Kenosha County Center.  The course fee is $150, which includes textbooks and materials.
