Free, confidential memory screens and dementia care consultations available

The Kenosha County Aging & Disability Resource Center is now offering free, confidential memory screens and dementia care consultations scheduled monthly at the Kenosha County Center, 19600 75th St., (Highways 50 and 45) Bristol.

Memory screens are suggested for anyone concerned about memory changes, at risk of Alzheimer’s disease due to family history or who wants to check their memory now for future comparison. Screening results are not a diagnosis, and individuals who have concerns are encouraged to pursue a full medical exam. The screening takes 5-10 minutes.

A dementia care consultation can be scheduled with a Dementia Care Specialist to create care plan specific to your situation. It addresses the challenges of those caring for someone or living with dementia. This service is ideal for caregivers who are concerned about dementia behaviors, short or long-term care needs, funding, Power of Attorney forms for health, self-care needs and other dementia related programs offered in Kenosha County and for those living with dementia. For  this month’s schedule, or to schedule an appointment, please call 262-605-6645.
