Tuesday storm update: 100 percent chance of precipitation — snow, sleet, rain possible

What’s going to happen Tuesday has been the focus of weather forecasting in this region for almost a week now.

Here’s the latest Tuesday forecast from the National Weather Service:

Rain and snow before noon, then rain and snow, possibly mixed with sleet between noon and 3pm, then rain after 3pm. High near 36. Windy, with an east wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.”

More snow is expected to the north and west of us. As of 11:45 a.m., Monday, Kenosha County is not under any type of warning, watch or advisory. The NWS said there will be a “tight gradient between the heavy snow and hardly any snow.”
