If you travel Highway 12 in Walworth County in the Elkhorn area often, you might be interested in the following announcement from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation about the Highway 12-County NN interchange.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss the upcoming reconstruction of the US 12/County NN interchange, in Walworth County. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Walworth County Department of Public Works building (training room): W4097 County NN, Elkhorn, WI 53121. The County NN bridges, over US 12, are highly deteriorated and do not meet modern vertical clearance and sight visibility standards. Project improvements will include: Replacement of two bridges on County NN; reconstruction of all ramps; installation of a shared-use path along County NN; improvement of adjacent intersections (County H, Stuart Drive, Bray Road). Long-term closures of ramps and County NN will be necessary to facilitate the above work. Signed detours will be provided. The meeting will be an informal, open house format. No formal presentation will be given. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and ask questions concerning this project. Project overviews and construction staging exhibits will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.”
