The Kenosha County Tavern League recently donated funding to Westosha Head Start.

The money donated throughout the year has enabled Westosha Head Start to have a new sand box shelter built for the playground; fund “The Getting Ready for Head Start” program offering assistance of backpacks, clothing, and shoes for the children to start school in September; made it possible for the children to go on a field trip to Richardson’s Farms in October; provide turkey and gravy for a November Family Fun Night potluck dinner; allow the purchase of two learning tablets for classrooms, and enable parents to keep children warm outside with new snow pants and boots for December.

Westosha Head Start, located in Wilmot, services eligible children ages 3 through 5 as well as their families in the Western Kenosha County area. The program provides a preschool education that focuses on social, cognitive and hands-on learning, ensuring its children will have all the necessary abilities required for their transition into Kindergarten. If you would like an application or would like to find out more about our programming please call 862-6168.
