Bristol and Salem have agreed to lower the speed limit on 216th Avenue to 35 mph for the entire length of the road from Highway 50 to Highway AH.
Each of the municipalities acted on the matter at meetings on Monday.
That stretch of road makes up part of the border between the two municipalities.
Bristol village administrator Randy Kerkman said the move was prompted by requests from a few residents.
