Earlier this week, the National Weather Service expected the Fox River, as measured at the New Munster gauge, to exceed flood stage Wednesday morning. To that effect, the NWS issued a flood warning.

But in reality the Fox never quite made flood stage of 11 feet this morning, and is now receding. It got awfully close, however, topping out at 10.87 feet.

If you were in an area affected by this first level of flooding, that .13 of an inch, probably didn’t make much difference.

The flood warning has been lifted, however.

Any chance of rain does not make an appearance in the forecast until next Tuesday, and just 20 percent at that.
