A nearly certain forecast of snow deep enough that you will have to shovel has crept into the forecast for Friday night and Saturday.

The National Weather Service local forecast says there’s a 90 percent chance of snow with a possible 1 to 3 inch accumulation Friday night and a 90 percent chance of snow with a possible accumulation of 2 to 4 inches.

That’s quite a change from earlier in the week when the chance of snow for Friday and Saturday was just 30 percent with no measurable accumulation.

Temperatures also will be getting colder. The high Friday is forecast for 33, the high for Saturday and Sunday is forecast for 28.

Some relief is in sight on the temperature front early next week with high temps getting back into the 40s.
