John Niederer appointed new Bristol Fire and Rescue chief

John Niederer was appointed the next chief of Bristol Fire and Rescue by the Bristol Village Board at Monday’s regular meeting.

Niederer replaces Chief Peter Parker, who is retiring.

Niederer will start officially as chief Jan. 2016, but will work alongside Parker for December, said Randy Kerkman, village administrator.

Niederer  currently is full-time with Burlington Fire Department and is a paid on call staff person for Bristol Fire and Rescue. He also previously worked for the village Public Works Department from May 2005 to August 2007, Kerkman said.
