The Sharing Center seeking sponsors for holiday programs

the-sharing-center-logo-with-tagThe Sharing Center is currently seeking sponsors to “adopt” children this holiday season. Secret Shoppers and Center children are paired anonymously, with shoppers providing a child’s most basic identified needs, and a gift. When shopping for and deciding how many children you can sponsor, keep in mind that your kindness may be the only holiday gifts received by an individual child. Suggestions are that a sponsor purchase two  articles of clothing and one educational gift for each child. Sponsored children gifts should be delivered no later than Dec. 1; please call with questions or special needs.

The Sharing Center is Western Kenosha County’s resource center and food pantry. Its Mission is to provide a helping-hand to those living in our community.  Each year the Center serves over 2,000 western Kenosha County residents, of which 42% are children.

This year, the center is welcoming the donation of educational gifts to be offered to children who are not sponsored; the center has many families who may be late to register.  These will become part of a small selection of gifts for parents to choose from for their children. These giftscan be brought to the center anytime up to Dec. 21, though earlier in the month is better.

For a sponsor application visit the center, access it online or email

For Thanksgiving and Christmas food donations, no registration is required.  Holiday Food accepted Oct. 1–Dec. 21. Holiday Food needs include: Turkey, ham, roasting chicken, fresh potatoes, gravy, stuffing, pie (fresh, frozen) or the fixin’s.

The Sharing Center is located at 25700 Wilmot Road (Highway C), Trevor (in the former Trevor Fire Station building).
