The Kenosha County Division of Health, in partnership with Gateway Technical College, University of Wisconsin Parkside, and Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints is hosting a learning opportunity for the community on the dangers and warning signs of opiate and heroin use and abuse.
Participants can look forward to learning:
- What is the scope of the opioid /heroin problem in Kenosha County?
- How can you tell someone is using – signs and symptoms?
- How can I help my friend/family member?
- What are the treatment & aftercare options?
This program is designed to increase community awareness regarding the scope of the heroin and opiate problem in Kenosha County. Each participant will leave with resources and information specific to treatment in the community.
This program will be offered on:
- Monday, Sept. 28, from noon to 1 p.m., Gateway Technical College, 3530 30th Ave., Kenosha. Room A100S (next to student services) Park in Lot B. Parking is free.
- Wednesday, Oct. 14, from noon to 1 p.m., University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 900 Wood Rd, Somers. Student Center – Walnut Room, Free Parking in Lot A.
