Windy then chance of storms; cool off this week

wind-sock-sxc-Milan-Jurek-webSunday should be windy, perhaps followed up later by a thunderstorm, says the latest local National Weather Service forecast.

Winds will start out at 10 to 15 mph, but increase to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon, eventually gusting as high as 40 mph.

A 50 percent chance of a thunderstorm Sunday after 11 a.m. will increase to 60 percent from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight. The wind should start to diminish after that.

Sunday’s high temperature could reach 90. The NWS is seeing a significant decrease in high temperatures that balance of the week with Monday’s high reaching just 79 and highs later in the week in the low to mid 70s.

That cool down would bring to an end a long run of 80-plus days hereabouts.
