Bette D. Bosanko, 91 joined her Savior on May 22, 2015. Heaven’s welcoming committee included her husband Robert, son Roger, grandson Jean Paul, daughter-in-law Laurie, a zillion Doll relatives and a couple of Hoffman relatives. Bette is survived by sons David H.(Sally), Richard A.(Maggie), Robert J.(Kat), Philip G.(Kim), daughter-in-law Margaret and son-in-law Dennis O’Hair, and adopted son Ben Douglas. Her grandchildren are Dean(Gina)Bosanko, Steven Bosanko, Lizz Bosanko, Angela Stewart, Jennifer Salmonsen. She held a special place in her heart for great grandson Jordan Bosanko.
Bette was born to Henry and Elizabeth Doll on July 18, 1923, passing away at the age of 91(she would have been 93, but was sick for 2 years as a child.) A lifelong resident of West Allis and Holy Assumption Congregation, she recently moved to Kenosha to be nearer her family. But she remained a “West Allis gal” at heart. Bette’s favorite saying was “next to Jesus, my best friend is Jack Daniels”. She enjoyed a rather unique experience in that 4 of her sons and her nephew Steven were career firefighters(Racine, Kenosha, Wauwatosa, USAF, South Shore). Her rank was “Chief Bette-Bosanko Brigade Fire Department”, and her car license plate proudly read: CF-BBFD”.
Family and friends are invited to a “Celebration of Life” for Bette. Services will be Monday, June 15, 2015 at Holy Assumption Church, 7107 W. Orchard Street, West Allis. Visitation 4pm, Mass 5 pm. The celebration will continue at mom’s favorite “watering hole”, Benno’s, 7413 W. Greenfield Avenue, West Allis, 6 pm ’til ?.
In her final act of generosity, Bette donated her body to the Medical College of Wisconsin for research. Those wishing to make a donation in her memory may do so with their favorite charity, or one of hers listed here:
