Just wondering if they will be calling Silver Lake Rescue Squad for “backup”…you know…”Paramedic INTERCEPT”?
I think I can help clarify Mr. Punsley’s medical question. Town of Salem Fire/Rescue provides Paramedic Level Service when they respond to a medical emergency. Their response area includes Wilmot High School and Westosha Central High School, in Paddock Lake. So both of our high schools would receive Paramedics. In Silver Lake, however, we do not provide Paramedic level service. If there is a medical emergency at Riverview Grade School, Silver Lake Rescue Squad would respond to handle the situation. Once they got on scene and determined that Paramedic Level Service was required, they would call Salem Fire & Rescue Paramedics for assistance. Hence the term “Paramedic Intercept”.
I hope this clarification helps.
OK…now I’m really confused. Our HIGH SCHOOL get PARAMEDIC LEVEL RESPONSE to a medical emergency, but our GRADE SCHOOLS do not? That’s what it appears like to me….am I missing something? That is totally BIZARRE!
Mr Punsley. Silver Lake Rescue Squad will respond to assist any fire/rescue emergency service that requests their assistance. This is all part of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System(MABAS), where neighoring fire and rescue departments help one another out in an emergency. However, Silver Lake cannot “intercept
as paramedics, because they don’t provide that level of care. But they still would respond to assist Salem(or anyone else that called)in an emergency.
Bernard. Some people just can’t see the dripping sarcasm. I think you might need to tone it down a bit.
@They still don’t get you: Umm….I’d a tad confused….if “Some people just can’t see the dripping sarcasm”(your words, not mine), then WHY would I need to “tone it down”(your words, not mine)? Following your logic, I think I might need to CRANK IT UP so that they DO “get me”. In the meantime, I suggest you calm down and take a deep breath. I remain, BERNARD!
Your first post was sarcasm about SL not having Paramedic service, was it not? ‘Tone it down’ was a play on words from another story. Didn’t you get it?
As I said, it was a compliment to you. I guess I won’t bother anymore.
