The Wheatland Willing Workers 4-H Club planted a tree Saturday in memory of the club’s long time leader of 35 years, Arlene Roanhaus. Arlene passed away in January 2014.

The club purchased the tree and donated it to the town of Wheatland. The tree was planted near the New Munster Park sign, next to the Wheatland Fire Department.

Arlene was a dedicated youth member of the club from 1938-1946 and became a leader from 1947-1974 and then again in 1995-2003.
Arlene was honored with many 4-H awards during her life including the Outstanding 4-H Alumni Award in 1995 and was recently inducted into the first class of the Kenosha County 4-H Hall of Fame in October 2014.

The Wheatland Willing Workers 4-H would like to express a special thank you to the Family of Arlene Roanhaus, Town of Wheatland for accepting the donation of the tree, the Wheatland Fire Department for allowing the club to recycle the cans from their Fire Department Carnival and Finishing Touches Landscaping for the delivery of the tree.
