Alec Haluzak struck out 16 and walked 3 in Wilmot’s defeat of Central 9-1.
“I haven’t seen a performance like that in a little while. It was impressive. Quite impressive. We’re a young team and just trying to get better each game. Today they were able to come up with the big hits. They were tuned in this entire game. I’m happy for them.” Wilmot coach Josh Pye.
The pitcher’s duel was cracked when Wilmot scored one run in the 4th inning.
Wilmot would rally for 8 runs in the 6th inning. Central scored their only run in the bottom of the 7th.
On Tuesday Central defeated Wilmot 4-3 at Wilmot.
