Challenger Phillip Johnson did not file for a recount in the Randall town chairman before the deadline.
That means the results that returned Chairman Bob Stoll to office on April 7 will stand.
Johnson had to file a formal request for a recount by April 15, which he did not do, said town Clerk Phyllis Kaskin.
Johnson had told westofthei.com that he was planing to seek a recount. Stoll defeated Johnson by 18 votes out of 460 cast.
That margin was large enough that Johnson would have had to cover the cost of a recount, under state law.
