Relay For Life of Wilmot High School is May 15-16

The Relay For Life of Wilmot High School is a team based, 12-hour event to fight cancer, while having fun and raising funds for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient programs. The event includes games, activities, fundraisers, food, family fun, music and much more.

This year, the event is on May 15-16 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The goal is to raise over $40,000 for the American Cancer Society’s programs and services.

The Opening Ceremony at 6 p.m. includes a speech from a local cancer survivor, and a lap that all survivors take together as a way for participants to honor them. There also will be a Luminaria Ceremony at 9 p.m., where track is lined with candlelit white bags, decorated in honor of or in memory of loved ones who have fought the disease.

To get involved, you can make or join a Relay For Life team by gathering 8-15 of your friends, family or co-workers, register as a cancer survivor, volunteer at the event, or make a donation. The public is welcome to stop by any time before 10:30 p.m. to support the cause.
