Here are a couple of notices of nearby road construction from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation:
Highway 50
As part of the WIS 50 Local Roads Project in Kenosha County, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to begin single lane closures on WIS 50 at 9 a.m., Monday, April 13. These single lane closures will affect portions of WIS 50 within the project limits of 130th to 104th streets. The single lane closures will be limited to occur during daytime hours with some double lane closures in overnight hours. These are anticipated to last two-to-three weeks. The lane closure is necessary for crews to complete pavement marking operations, along with work on the median and turn lanes. Additionally, on Wednesday, April 15, there will be a daytime single lane closure on WIS 142 between the East and West frontage roads. Crews will be completing pavement marking. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change.”
Highway 20 and I-94
As part of the WIS 20 Interchange Reconstruction Project in Racine County, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will be closing the left-lane on westbound WIS 20 under I-94 as early as 5 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, for approximately two months. The westbound WIS 20 lane closure extends from approximately the East Frontage Road to the West Frontage Road. The lane closure is necessary for crews to complete demolition, excavation, pile driving operations and construction of the southbound I-94 East (southbound) bridge over WIS 20. As an alternative route to get around the lane closure on WIS 20, westbound motorists can go north on County V and then west on County C. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change.”
As always, WisDOT urges motorists to remain alert and cautious when driving through a work zone.
