At about 4:30 p.m., Randall Fire Department, Twin Lakes Fire Department, Town of Wheatland Fire Department and Silver Lake Fire Department units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a hay field on fire.
Per dispatch: Property reported a loud noise at the top to a utility pole that produced sparks that may have ignited field. Fire size estimated at 20 feet by 20 feet and growing.
UPDATE 4:32 p.m. — Wheatland FD and Silver Lake FD units asked to hold in quarters for now.
UPDATE 4:35 p.m. — Fire unit on scene estimates half an acre burning. Silver Lake FD reports to dispatch that they are still responding, but on a non-emergency basis.
UPDATE 4:42 p.m. — Randall FD command clearing Silver Lake unit to return to quarters.
UPDATE 4:47 p.m. — Randall FD requests utility company respond to repair a pole.
UPDATE 4:51 p.m. — Dispatch reports that Alliant Energy crew should arrive in 30-40 minutes.
UPDATE 4:53 p.m. — Deputy on scene reports fire is out.
