The Bristol Village Board approved two agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation over upcoming road projects along Highway 45.

The agreements are designed to keep in place terms that favor Bristol, said village administrator Randy Kerkman.

Projects  covered by the agreements are Highway 45 from the stateline to Highway 50 and Highway 45 from Highway 50 north to Highway 11.

Changes are being proposed by Gov. Scott Walker that could change the typical split of costs for such road projects for aspects such as trees  and curbs and gutters. For both projects, the village had anticipated paying a total of about $80,000. Under the new guidelines, the village estimates it would be on the hook for about $300,000.

Since the changes have not been adopted yet, the agreements should lock in the older terms, Kerkman said.
