The memorial service for Kenosha Fire Department Lt. Scott Schumacher, of Trevor, will take place at Carthage College in Kenosha Thursday starting at noon.

Schumacher’s death last week was from cancer due to carcinogen exposure during execution of emergency duties while on incidents with the KFD, said a statement issued by the KFD. During his 16 years of service to the KFD, Schumacher executed multiple rescues and received several commendations for lifesaving and heroism.
Schumacher, 41, is survived by his wife and three children.
Schumacher also was active as a leader in Lakeland Little League.
