UW- Extension, Sustainable Economic Edible Development (SEED) and the Farm Fresh AtlasTM of Southeastern Wisconsin are hosting a program for food producers and entrepreneurs and market managers on Thursday, March 19, at the Veteran’s Terrace in Burlington. This program will provide attendees an opportunity to network with fellow food entrepreneurs in the region, explore resources, and discover new opportunities.
Presentation topics will address connecting with and selling to restaurants, local financing opportunities, improving marketing strategies, opportunities for value-added production, food safety regulations, new varieties for 2015 and news from the Farm Fresh Atlas, SEED, and UW-Extension. Booth space is available for those wishing to share resources – please contact Leigh Presley, leigh.presley@ces.uwex.edu for more information.
Speakers and exhibitors will include Jeff Joslyn, Braise RSA; Young Cho, Simple Café; Heather Lux, WWBIC; Peter Hesprich, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture; local NRCS and FSA representatives, and others.
Pre-register for $7 per-person or pay $10 at the door. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. for registration and runs until 2:30 pm. Program fee includes a local food lunch and raffle entry.
