Former Salem town Chairman Tom Walsh died Jan. 30 in a car crash in Cable.
The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Department told northlandsnewscenter.com that the vehicle Walsh was driving rolled over. Walsh’s wife, Diane, and his 2-year-old grandchild were also in the vehicle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Walsh was town chairman from 2003-4 and also was a member of the Salem Township Rescue Squad. Walsh and his wife moved to the Iron River area in 2010.
