Winter weather advisory issued for today: More bitter cold with blowing snow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Thursday.

The advisory will start at noon, when the already existing wind chill advisory is set to expire. The winter weather advisory will continue until 9 p.m. Thursday. The advisory warns of continued bitter cold coupled with blowing snow this afternoon and tonight. One to 3 inches of new snow accumulation is possible.

While the snow should clear out, cold and wind — to a somewhat lesser degree — is still in the forecast for Friday and Saturday. But lo, a warm-up of sorts is on the horizon. Temperatures in the mid 20s should develop for Sunday through Wednesday of next week.
