The line-up of candidates for local school board positions to be decided in the April 7 election have been set.
Here’s a rundown of the candidates in each district:
Paris School — Two candidates filed to fill two seats. They are incumbent Colleen Belmont and Kristine Kordecki.
Central High School — One candidate filed for each of the three available seats: Area G – At Large – Mary Ellen Pearsall; Area F – Paddock Lake -Cheryl Baysinger; Area E – Wheatland
– Terry Simmons. Pearsall and Baysinger are incumbents. The Area E-Wheatland incumbent Roger Runkel did not run for re-election.
Randall School — Three candidates filed to fill three seats. They are: Kelly James-Piccolo, Teresa Mortensen, Randy Nolan, all incumbents. The top two vote-getters will win three-year terms, the third place finisher will get a one-year term.
Salem School — Three candidates have filed to fill two seats. They are: Shane Gerber, Jack Niccolai (incumbent), Robert Spencer. UPDATE Jan. 26 — Parisa Watson has initiated a formal write-in candidacy. She was appointed in January to fill the remainder of Kim McLeod’s term, which expires in April.
Riverview School — Two candidates have filed to fill the one available seat. They are: Michael J. Gentile and David Van Kampen (incumbent).
Brighton School — One candidate each filed for the two available seats. They are President Linda Perona, incumbent, and Clerk Judy Uhlenhake, incumbent.
Wheatland Center School — Two candidates filed to fill two available seats. They are: Troy Bruley and Kenneth Humphrey, both incumbents. The candidate with the most votes will have a 3 year term and the other candidate will have a 2 year term.
Trevor-Wilmot School — Two candidates filed for two available seats. They are Dean Troyer and Lynn Jaeger, both incumbents.
Lakewood School — One candidate, Patricia Platts, who is the incumbent, filed to fill the one available seat.
Wilmot Union High School — Two candidates filed for two open seats. They are Nadine Slowinski, incumbent, and Deborah Rudolph.
