Silver Lake will have a race for village president in April and need a primary to narrow the field for village trustee.
Both incumbent Sue Gerber and challenger Bruce Nopenz filed candidacy papers by the deadline today to run for village president.
For trustee, eight candidates filed papers for six spots on the ballot. They are: Pat Dunn (incumbent), Sabrina Moran (incumbent), Sandra Folgers, Eldon Johnston, Doug Randolph, Dave Lathrop, Eric Ericksen, Charles Wiltberger II. Incumbent Michael Decker did not run for re-election. The six candidates who receive the most votes in the Feb. 17 primary will advance to the April 7 election. The three candidates who receive the most votes in the April election will fill the trustee seats.

Time to clean out the house…Don’t vote for any with connections to the privately owned company of Silver Lake Rescue, or their buddies. That would be, don’t vote for Sue Gerber, don’t vote for Sabrina Moran. These two along with Carolin Dodge are or have been employees of Silver lake Rescue, again, a privately owned company. Sanday Folgers and Eldon Johnston represent more of the same old government. Vote for Bruce Nopenz, Eric Ericksen, (not Eric, Ericksen), Charles Wiltberger II, Doug Randolph. These 4 represent new and refreshed ideas to bring our village into a positive view. And of course, Pat Dunn. He had stood strong for us. Let’s change this village. You can guess who I am…
It will be most interesting to see the campaign literature for incumbents Gerber and Moran. 1.Library Fiasco……a continuing “albatross” around the village’s neck. 2. Pro Anti-Dissolve 3. Pro Silver Lake Rescue Squad/Anti-Paramedics
4.Continued refusal to appoint Silver Lake Fire Chief/recognize current Fire Chief
5.Continued lack of support for Silver Lake Fire Department. 6. Continued fiscal irresponsibility in addressing budgetary woes. I can’t wait to read their platforms!!!
If you stand in front of the village hall, and listen very carefully, you will hear some mumbling and grumbling coming from the village owned building across the railroad tracks……….the “Red Jackets” will soon be back in force as they seek to maintain the “status quo”. Listen carefully.
Well here we are with another chance to make a positive change. Out with the people that have been bleeding our government, no bid contracts, library fiasco, supporting a private company that perform at a low level and more. Vote for Bruce Nopenz, Eric Ericksen, Doung Randolph and our own Pat Dunn.
@SL Government Gone Wild….pretty valid observations. Pat Dunn has been solid as a rock on the board, a true champion of the citizens of Silver Lake. He can’t be bought, bullied, or broken. True, he does get “bashed” quite a bit, but a tongue lashing from the Queen or the “Galled Galley” has little impact on him.
GO PAT!!!
Just wondering how the “Lie-brary” acquistion will play out in the election process. Moran and Gerber have got to be scrambling to come up with a way to put a positive spin on it. Along with their refusal to appoint and recognize our Fire Chief, and their lack of support for paramedics in our village. Voters, be AWARE!
Why would someone vote for Nopenz, Randolph, or Erickson? I doubt the three of them can find their way to the Village Hall. Like Pat Dunn, these three won’t have an idea or opinion on anything….. unless Albrecht and Galich spoon feed it to them.
@”No-brainer”……ummn….not sure how many board meetings you have attended in the past….the only “spoon feeding” being done is by the SLRS “RED JACKETS” as they continue to “pull the strings”. Pat Dunn CONTINUES to push his bowl of gruel away from the table while the rest of the board members wolf theirs down. Time for a new menu. A rescue squad free diet!
Can you really call it a “new menu” when you are trying to serve the same old leftovers from the Albrecht years? Face it, Erickson , Nopenz, etc are all Albrect neighbors and probably can’t even spell Silver Lake. News flash for you Bernard, not just the red coats think you and your brain trust (Galich, Francart, Albrecht, etc) are only interested in helping themselves. The rest of the Village is starting to see it now as well.
@Leftovers……..”the rest of the village is starting to see it now as well”….yep, last election on the referendums showed that pretty well!!!!!!!!!
Leftovers is starting to realize everyone has his number. You lose.
@Leftovers: You will soon be eating “humble pie”. Hmmmnm..delicious!!!!
The only people I see crying are the ones who have been thrown out of office.
