The most recent local National Weather Service forecast is calling for a bit less accumulation than earlier in the day — now 1 to 3 inches overnight. Snow is expected to stop by 3 a.m. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 3 a.m.
On Tuesday, with a high of 11 and calmer winds of 5 to 15 mph, wind chill values should be in the -5 to -15 range Tuesday.
The real cold weather this week still is likely to come Wednesday. Currently the high is forecast for -1 and winds of 15 to 20 with gusts to 25 mph could produce wind chill in the -25 to -30 range.
Looking much further ahead, there appears to be some hope for a modest warm-up on the horizon. Sunday’s high is forecast for 23 and Monday’s for 25.
