An online fundraiser has been set up for Kayla Brown, 12, who is recovering from serious injuries from a crash on New Year’s Eve in Wheatland.

Brown was injured in a crash on New Year’s Eve afternoon at Highway 50 and 392nd Ave. The driver of the truck in which Brown was riding, Samantha J. Russell, 16, of Slades Corners, died from her injuries sustained in the crash.

UPDATE Jan. 5 — Sgt. Dan Ruth, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, issued the following statement on Sunday regarding Kayla Brown: “The 12-year old passenger of the pick-up truck, Kayla R. Brown, remains hospitalized, in very critical condition. “
