At 2:39 p.m., Town of Wheatland Fire Department and Silver Lake Rescue Squad units are responding to a report of a grass fire in the 31700 block of Highway 50.
Per dispatch: Fire was reported as being south of the highway, away from any buildings, about 20 feet wide and approaching the highway.
UPDATE 2:47 p.m. — Fire unit arriving on the scene reports a 100 by 100 active fire.
UPDATE 3:12 p.m. — Wheatland FD command reports fire is out and units are returning to quarters. Silver Lake Rescue also returning quarters.
