The Gillmore family and friends again presented a live Nativity at the Oakvue Farm in Bristol Friday night.
The live nativity will also be presented Saturday, Dec. 13, at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The live nativity uses people to portray the characters in the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, along with live music and real animals. The nativity is set in a barn on the farm. Gillmore family members, friends and volunteers from area churches all contribute to the annual event, which has been taking place over for over 20 years.
Each year Ed Gillmore writes a poem about the spirit of the occasion. Here he is reading this year’s, poem after telling a short story about playing softball this summer and a humbling experience:
The crowd was so large at the early presentation on Friday that doors in the barn were opened up to let people standing outside see.
