Central Varsity Cheer competed at the Regional Qualifier in Milwaukee last weekend.

Not only did the girls win their division but they qualified for Nationals in Florida.

“We are an extremely dedicated group of girls who work hard,” said coach Natalia Vernezze. “Our motto this year has been to strive to be our best at each practice and in our daily lives, pushing ourselves to the top. We are aspiring to be the best in our sport. We have truly earned the opportunity to attend both on and off of the mat. We have some of the top grades, we maintain good character, and we try our best always.”

But the Nationals bid has raised another hurdle for the team to overcome — fundraising. Vernezze explains:

For the Westosha Central cheer team, the highest potential we have is attending Nationals. However, as many people know, competing in Florida will be costly for the team. I am asking you fans, friends, and family to help us be recognized as a national competitor in our sport. Help us soar to new heights to compete in Orlando with my teammates my best friends. These girls are my family. Any donation for the team would be greatly appreciated, however small the amount. All raised funds will go directly to the team’s costs. Without the community support, we will likely not be able to make the trip. Please rally around us and help us reach the dream of performing for a national audience.making our dreams come true.

Donations can be made here.

What a shame these girls worked so hard to make it to Florida and the Administration is willing to give them a whopping $100. What a joke.
