Winter League Basketball is back in a continuing effort to build on the momentum from the Westosha Athletic Conference season, preparing players for the upcoming traveling team season, and continuing to build excitement about girls basketball in our area. Winter League is being run by the Wilmot Girls Basketball Club and will bridge the gap from the local school basketball season to the travel basketball season.

Winter League Basketball is open to all girls in grades 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th, and not just to girls from schools that feed into Wilmot. The goal is to have six teams at the 7th/8th level, and at least four at the 5th/6th level.
This league is sponsored by both the Wilmot Girls Basketball Program and the Wilmot Girls Basketball Club, but it is not a commitment to play travel basketball for the Wilmot Girls Basketball Club. However, those interested in playing travel basketball for the Wilmot Girls Basketball Club should indicate so on their Winter League registration.

All Winter League games will be played at Wilmot Union High School. Due to the high demand of the facilities at Wilmot during the winter, all game nights have been scheduled on Wednesday nights—this was the only way we could guarantee a consistent night. Tentative practice times have been scheduled for Monday nights, but have the potential to be changed depending up the high school’s needs.

Tryouts and registration deadline is Monday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $60.
