Twin Lakes Police arrest juvenile in connection with vehicle break-ins

tl-pd-patchTwin Lakes Police Chief Dale Racer released the following statement regarding an arrest of a juvenile in connection with recent vehicle break-ins in the village :

On Thursday, December 4, 2014 at approximately 12:10AM, Twin Lakes Police officers, along with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, responded to the area of Fox River Road and County C for a report of vehicle break-ins in progress. Twin Lakes officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the area and attempted to stop the vehicle. After a very brief pursuit, the vehicle stopped and it was learned that the driver, a 15 year old male, had no driver’s license and was in possession of marijuana. It was further learned that the juvenile had taken the car, which belonged to his mother’s boyfriend, without permission. The juvenile was conveyed to the Twin Lakes Police Department for further investigation. Twin Lake officers went to the juvenile’s home, just outside of Twin Lakes, to notify the mother and boyfriend of the juvenile taken into custody. Because the residence was near the original call for vehicle break-ins officers had asked permission to look at the juvenile’s bedroom. Permission was granted, and officers found items taken over the past several evenings from vehicle break-ins in the Village of Twin Lakes. Also found was marijuana and drug paraphernalia, at which time the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department responded to assist. The juvenile admitted to numerous vehicle break-ins in Twin Lakes that occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and implicated others involved in these thefts from the vehicles. Investigation is pending by both the Twin Lakes Police Department and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

Police are recommending the juvenile be charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug paraphernalia, Operating a Vehicle without Owner’s Consent, and numerous counts of Theft from Auto.
