The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team won its 34th Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship and ninth in the last 10 years with a 10-0 regular season record.

The Warhawks are currently preparing to host 14th-ranked Wabash (Ind.) this Saturday at noon in a second round game in the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

The following student-athletes from Western Kenosha County are members of this year’s team:

  • Christopher Nelson of Twin Lakes.
  • Dalton Heckel of Silver Lake.

UW-Whitewater (11-0), which is ranked No. 1 in the nation by both d3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association, owns a 28-game winning streak, the longest current stretch in college football regardless of division.

For more than 140 years, UW-Whitewater has provided students with the education and training to begin their careers with a solid foundation behind them.
