Randall School Veterans Day lunch RSVP due today

US-Flag-mf-click-webRandall School is once again hosting a Veterans Day Lunch and Assembly on Tuesday , Nov. 11.

New this year, when the veterans come to Randall there will be a photo booth. Each veteran will get a photo to commemorate the day’s events. In addition each veteran will receive a hand-made bookmark crafted by students at Randall. “Lest we forget” is printed on each bookmark, appropriately printed on the score from America the Beautiful. A poppy, adopted as a national symbol of remembrance, is made with fingerprints of the students themselves.

Every year there is a theme or focus for the Veterans Day Assembly. The focus this year is “The History of Women in the Military.” Commander Abigail White, from Great Lakes Naval Training Center will be talking with our Junior High students the morning of Nov. 11.

Each year, the veterans are served lunch. This year, our veterans will have broasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn, cranberries, homemade rolls, and pumpkin bars.

Veterans Lunch starts at 12:30 p.m. Veterans Day Assembly starts at 1:30 p.m.
