Randall School is the recipient of a 2014-15 ATOD $250 Mini Grant offered by the Greater Kenosha Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Awareness Committee.

This grant was written by students Lauren Christensen, McKinley Boyle, and teacher Karen Reddin.

This mini grant — “Dance the Drugs Away” — will be used to sponsor a drug-free dance. This dance will be open to grades 6-8 at Randall School. Wheatland Center School students will be invited to attend.

In the school’s concession area, student council will provide positive posters and drug free messages to dance attendees.

The grant money will be used to offset the cost of the DJ, as a result students will be able to attend for only $2 (a dance typically costs $5). Money from the grant will also be used to buy posters and drug/healthy choices awareness decorations for the dance.
