The thirteenth anniversary of 9/11 was commemorated with a service at The Kenosha International Noble Garden of Peace at Wolfenbuttel Park on the shores of Lake Michigan in the city of Kenosha. The service titled ”No Greater Friends” was put together by the 31st World Congress of Poets. Each member of the protective services addressed a topic that dealt with improving relations and understanding between the public and their profession. It was cold and windy, and only seemed become more so as the program went on.
The Star Spangled Banner was sung by Kay Sparling. She sung at all the Catholic funerals for the first responders following 9/11 in New York. She said she sang at multiple funerals a day for seven months.
“Conscience” written by Stacey Mia, sung by John Bush.

Certificates were given to presenters, with a poem written by Odessa Torrez, of Trevor. /Earlene Frederick photo
