The Salem Town Board took a step on Monday — although a small one — to streamline local government
Setting trick or treat hours is a staple of government meetings around this time of year. Sometimes there’s a little debate, but typically, the motion sails through — year, after year, after year, after year …
Monday, Salem stopped that merry go round by passing an ordinance that set trick or treat hours in Salem as 4 to 7 p.m. on Halloween (Oct. 31) until further action is taken.
“Every year it will be the same unless something changes,” said Chairman Diann Tesar.
The measure was approved unanimously.
