Units responding for smoke in building in Salem

At 1:06 p.m., Silver Lake Fire Department, Silver Lake Rescue and Town of Salem Fire/Rescue units (all stations) are responding to a report of smoke in a building in the 8300 block of Fox River Road in Salem.

Per dispatch: Smoke is in an out building behind a home. No flames seen, but smoke and a toxic smell reported.

UPDATE 1:11 p.m. — Deputy on scene reports no flames or smoke at this time.

UPDATE 1:14 p.m. — One units sizing up the situation. Others staging at the road.

UPDATE 1:16 p.m. — Investigation showed no flames or smoke, but a toxic smell. One other unit staying on scene. Others, including tankers, can return to quarters.

UPDATE 1:40 p.m. — No fire found. All remaining units returning to quarters.
