Law Enforcement Torch Run Coverage

Wednesday night runners, bikers and walkers left from the Law Enforcement Memorial and ended at Somers Fire Station 2 for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The annual run raises money and awareness for Special Olympics. Some of them will join other members of law enforcement from all over the state, to celebrate the athletes at the Special Olympics State Games in Stevens Point.

Deputy Ray Merlin and his wife Jennifer, presented plaques to the departments who support them.

Department of Corrections agent Jennifer Merlin leads the athletes in the oath.

“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
