On May 1, 13 Salem School students attended the American Legion Law Day which was co-sponsored by the Kenosha County American Legion and the Kenosha Police and Sheriff’s Departments. All the seventh grade students had to write an essay in Social Studies on the topic “Crime Prevention…Who’s responsible?”. The seventh grade teachers then selected 13 students to go to the first part of Law Day, which is a full day at the Kenosha County Courthouse . All essays were submitted to Deputy Rowe and Officer Walsh to be judged again. Four students were then selected to go to Madison the next week. In Madison, they had a private tour of the capitol by Samantha Kerkman. Theythen went to the Veteran’s Museum and ended with a tour of the Governor’s mansion.
