The Seno Woodland Education Center is hosting a Spring Woodland Rendezvous, on Saturday, May 17, from 9 am to 4 pm, and on Sunday, May 18, from 9 am to 3 pm. A rendezvous is a living historical event where participants celebrate the lives and achievements of our ancestors. Dressed in historically authentic garb and using only historically authentic reproductions of the shelters and tools, they reenact the historical gatherings of frontiersmen and their families exchanging goods and services and enjoying the company of far-flung neighbors before returning to their day-to-day routine. Step into the past and visit with tradesmen and women portraying life in the 1700’s to 1850’s, as they demonstrate preparing flax, spinning wool, weaving, open-fire cooking, land surveying, flint knapping, woodworking and militia. Music, games and storytelling are just few of the attractions you’ll find. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. The Seno Woodland Education Center is on 216 acres of forests, prairies and wetlands split between Walworth and Kenosha Counties located 7 miles east of Lake Geneva and 5 miles south of Burlington on 3606 Dyer Lake Road (County Highway P). For more information about the Seno Center go to www.senocenter.org or call 262-539- 3222.
