Megan Stoen named to UW-Whitewater Hawk Squad

Megan Stoen, a senior Spanish major from Twin Lakes,  was named a member of the 2014-15 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Hawk Squad.

The Hawk Squad serves as the face of the student body, providing orientation programming for new UW-Whitewater students and their families. Duties include holding small group meetings with students during Plan-It Purple (summer orientation and registration program) and participating in other campus events. “Our goal is to help first-year students transition and connect to their new surroundings,” said Amberly Bell, assistant director of First Year Experience. “We want to create a welcoming environment, sharing all of the possible resources these new students can access in order to be successful at UW-Whitewater.” To be chosen for the Hawk Squad, applicants participate in a two-part interview process during the fall semester, which includes group activities and an individual interview. “Our Hawk Squad always has a lot of energy and Warhawk pride,” Bell said. “I’m excited about the talent and the fresh look that has been incorporated into this year’s team.”
