Tree planting at Wheatland Center School

Kindergarten students at Wheatland School celebrated Earth Day by planting a tree. The Greensprire Linden tree, donated by Breezy Hill Nursery, can grow as tall as 50 feet with heart-shaped leaves.

Students, wearing their Earth Day headbands, each took turns putting a shovel of dirt in the hole. Katie Angel, from Breezy Hill, talked to them about trees and the students asked questions. She then gave each of them a sticker for planting a tree.
