Paris garage fire last night

paris-fd-doorFirefighters from Paris Fire and Rescue and other fire departments fought a fire in the 12900 block of Burlington Road (Highway 142) in Paris Thursday night.

Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene at about 10:45 p.m., according to radio transmissions (from archive). The garage was detached and about 50 feet from a residence. Welding equipment was inside the garage, and a propane tank behind the garage. Deputies reported that the garage was fully engulfed upon their arrival. Deputies also evacuated the home. Traffic on Highway 142 was blocked at Highway UE and West Frontage Road.

A box alarm was activated and personnel and equipment from Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue, Bristol Fire and Rescue, Silver Lake Fire Department, Town of Salem Fire/Rescue, Somers Fire Department, Town of Burlington Fire Department and Kansasville Fire Department responded, reports the Kenosha Area Fire Rescue Scanner Facebook page, which also has some photos.

One Highway 142 resident told westofthei.com that he counted at least 12 vehicles go by his residence responding to the fire.
