County Supervisor District 22 (district map here)

Chris Brown, age 36. Past Randall Plan Commission member.

Erin Decker, age 38. County supervisor since 2010.

Why are you seeking this office?

Brown — As a multiple generation resident of Kenosha County, I thought this was a natural idea for me to give back to the community. I have family all over Kenosha County, and with my previous experience on the Plan Commission, and as a member of the Randall Fire Department, I feel this is a natural progression to help our community. This county is where my grandparents, parents, myself grew up and hopefully my children will, and I feel if I win this position, its another way to help the area I live in.

Decker — I am seeking re-election to continue to be a conservative voice on the Kenosha County Board. The taxes, spending and debt are out of control in Kenosha County. As a small business owner, I know that taxes hurt job growth and I will vote against any budget that raises our tax levy. As the only conservative in this race, I will represent the taxpayer first — not special interest groups.

Why are you a better choice than the other candidate?

Brown — I feel my strength lies in my knowledge of the people in the area. As a small business owner in the county, volunteer fireman, and vice-president of the Twin Lakes Chamber, I see and talk to a large amount of people in the area. I will listen to what everyone says, and weigh all the options. At this small of a level of government, partisan politics shouldn’t play into our government. Listening to our residents, businesses and employees is more important than any partisan politics, because we have to live, work and look these people in the eyes, and that’s my plan. If elected, I will do my best to follow that ideal, so I can look our residents in the eye and be able to tell them I did the best I can for Kenosha County

Decker — I have been on the county board for 4 years, and am seeking another 2 year term. I have extensive knowledge of how county government works and can continue proper representation of the district. As the vice-chairman of the Planning, Development & Extension Education Committee, I have worked to prepare for employers starting businesses in Kenosha County. I am a supporter of the Hard Rock Casino Project and have been in close contact with the State of Wisconsin on this issue. I work well with our State Representative, Samantha Kerkman, on issues facing the county that need help from our representatives in Madison. This is key as county government is an arm of state government. I will bring my small business experience to the county board, and also my fiscal-conservatism to watch out for the taxpayer.
